There is a lot of discussion going on in about the usage, impacts, and effects of Cannabis all over the globe. In few parts of the world, growing the Cannabis, import and export, the industrialization of Cannabis is made legal. But in other parts of the world cannabis are immensely banned. In this article, we are speaking about the effects of Cannabis on mental health.

What is Cannabis?

Cannabis is a drug made out of cannabis plant. The Cannabis contains a chemical called Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This, when mixed with the mainstream blood, causes hallucination and other brain numbness. The prevalent forms of Cannabis are marijuana and hashish. These forms are widely known in various other names like pot, hash, grass, weed and dope.

Cannabis also comes in various other forms like dried leaves, dry flowers of cannabis plants, the resin of the plant, the powder made up of the seed, and so on. Usually, Cannabis is consumed in the form of smoke. They are generally mixed with the tobacco and are smoked in joints, baked food like cakes, brownies or cookies, bongs or tiny pipes. They are even found to be mixed with the beverages and also alcohols.

What are the effects of Cannabis on mental health?

The consumption of Cannabis is not entertained because of the psychoactive effects that are caused over the brain. The causes also depend on the multiple factors like:

  • The amount of cannabis consumption
  • The concentration of Cannabis
  • The mode of consumption
  • The pre mental state of the consumer
  • The form of Cannabis consumed
  • The supplement used or mixed with the Cannabis

The effects also depend upon many other factors, but the very common effects that an individual faces are:

  • The state of feeling sickness
  • Laziness
  • Lack of attentiveness
  • Lack of stimulus
  • Change in the way of handling things
  • Poor concentration
  • Loosing memory
  • Low motivation
  • Very low sexual performance
  • High level of anxiety
  • Feeling paranoid for a long duration
  • Irregular menses
  • Feeling doubtful
  • Lack of interest
  • Feeling panic and lost
  • Lack of hopes
  • Feeling sad and happy in the same time
  • Lack of coordination

When it comes directly to the mental health, Cannabis tops the list of psychotic drugs. Generally, people who consume Cannabis are very intentional are drink it to overcome some spaces or pleasure. Too much consumption can make your condition worse and can also lead to the death. Most of the times cannabis causes chronic anxiety and panic attacks.

It also initiates the individual to undergo traumas and feel paranoid. The individual loses trust and tries to make him/herself isolated from the surroundings. They eventually start to believe in stranger things and focus only one element. They will be prone to undergo condition called as psychosis. Young adults, if they are under the practice of consuming Cannabis, are in the higher risk of losing memory is a minimum age.
